The Laboratory for Technological Innovation in Health (LAIS), established in 2011, is based at the Onofre Lopes University Hospital (HUOL) of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). Recognized nationally, LAIS stands out for its research, technological development, and initiatives in the field of Public Health, consolidating its expertise in applied projects aimed at addressing challenges within Brazil’s National Health System (SUS). LAIS is a transdisciplinary research laboratory encompassing the following areas: Health Management and Information; Health Innovation; Hearing, Language, and Cognition; Bioengineering; Assistive Technologies; Public Health Communication; and Continuing Health Education. Altogether, more than 100 projects have been developed or completed within these research domains.


Role in the project: 


LAIS/UFRN contributes to MULTIPULM through key leadership roles in WP4 and WP5. LAIS/UFRN leads Deliverables D4.3 and D5.1, and will coordinate capacity-building activities and the design the validation study protocol for Brazil. Within WP5, LAIS/UFRN will lead Task 5.2 as well, conducting the real-world pilot study in Brazilian clinical sites (Natal, Mossoró, and Fortaleza).
